Elsenham Meadows, Stansted

TPHS were appointed by the client Cheergrey Properties to prepare initially the detailed technical work for representations to the Local Plan Inquiry call for sites for a site of some 19ha development of Office, Hotel, Conference and Leisure development, close to Stansted Airport. The work provided a detailed technical analysis and trip generation model for the various land-uses and incorporated a staged approach to the testing and assessment of both the local highway network and non-car modes of travel to the site. Detailed highway modelling ensured the trigger stages were assessed for transport upgrades

Broad Blunsdon, Swindon

TPHS were appointed by L and Q Estates (formerly Gallagher Estates) to assess the feasibility of access to a site in Blunsdon, Swindon. Following the initial report we provided the client with Local Plan Inquiry representations in terms of the highways and transport impacts of the site and subsequently have been retained to provide a TA and Travel Plan for the site which includes liaison with both Borough Council and Highways England on the impacts of the scheme at the A419 junction which is a HE Trunk Road. The project includes advice on micro-simulation as well as stand alone junction modelling and provision of outline design drawings for the access.

Green Point Colindale

TPHS were appointed by the scheme developer MarCity Developments following acquisition of the site in 2014. The site benefited from an extant planning permission for some 109 residential units comprising 81 market and 28 social rented properties. The scheme also included A1 retail use and basement and ground floor parking for some 150 spaces.

C-Space City Road

Helical appointed TPHS to deliver the transport solutions on this site which included a major refurbishment and an additional floor of accommodation to the building. A particularly challenging element of the project was removing the existing off street servicing space to create a new reception, meeting space and extensive secure cycle parking at ground floor level. The servicing was moved to a dedicated on street lay-by following detailed surveys of existing use of the parking and loading in the vicinity of the site. The work for planning also included a PERS audit (pedestrian environment condition survey) to identify gaps and deficiencies in the pedestrian infrastructure in the vicinity of the site.

Student Accommodation – Derby

Prosperity Capital Partners appointed TPHS to undertake the transport work on this scheme to develop 350 student bedrooms in Derby. TPHS provided a full TA and Travel Plan for the site as well as discharging the transport conditions post planning approval which included design of a new access to drop off and disabled parking. The project was completed in 2019 and is now operational and available for students

Woking – PRS

TPHS were appointed to advise Cortland Developments on traffic and transport matters on their PRS scheme of 320 units on the former BHS site in Woking Town Centre. Detailed feasibility assessments were undertaken on whether the site could be built using modular construction within such a constrained environment and small site footprint. The conclusion was that it was not possible due to the height of the towers proposed and the small storage space and turning area on site for the pods.

A20 Business Case Support

As part of our ongoing work for the Port of Dover, TPHS provided assistance and technical back up to support the Business Case funding for the A20 works. TPHS utilised the agreed VISSIM model which they had developed with their specialist modelling partners to undertake before and after assessments of the benefits of the A20 Highway Improvement works and provide these in a concise and researched report. This work enabled the Port to put together a case for the part funding of the works and improvements.

Dorsett City Hotel, Aldgate, London

We were appointed by FEC to provide feasibility advice on the transport and highway implications of the change of use from an office block to a hotel use on the Aldgate Gyratory adjacent to Aldgate LUL station. Subsequently a detailed planning application was supported by a very detailed Transport Assessment. The main issues that City of London had on the scheme was the size of the service yard and the managing of the deliveries and disabled parking for staff and visitors to the site.

O2 Hotel Greenwich Peninsula

TPHS were appointed by Grove Developments ltd to advise on the design of the arrival, car parking and drop off space for the new O2 Hotel within Greenwich Peninsula. The brief was to re design the planning approval drawings that were previously agreed to ensure that specific areas of the drop off and entry and exit barrier system worked better and provided adequate capacity for the customers of the banqueting area and ballroom. This space has capacity for some 5,000 guests.
